On-Grade Concrete Coating

COMPOSITION:

Select-Coat is a concentrated acrylic coating designed to coat over existing exterior on-grade concrete and asphalt surfaces. The system consists of a primer and three coats of Select-Coat. The system allows for the use of Excel-Crete as a patching and leveling coat prior to application of the Select-Coat system. The Excel-Coat Pedestrian Traffic Membrane system can be used in conjunction with Select-Coat if waterproofing is a consideration. Contact Excellent Coating Inc. for additional technical assistance.

BASIC USE:

Select-Coat is designed to provide a colorful coat to concrete surfaces where durability, UV resistance and uniform appearance are desired. Typical applications include tennis courts, patios, walkways and other recreational areas.

LIMITATIONS:

• Do not allow to freeze.
• Do not use in temperatures below 55⁰F or above 90⁰F.

GRADE:

Select-Coat is sold in concentrated form. Caution should be used when mixing to ensure consistency from batch to batch.

PACKAGING:

Select-Coat is available in 5 and 33-gallon containers (U.S. gallon measures).

SHELF-LIFE:

Twelve months from shipping date, stored below 80° F. Do not allow product to freeze.

COLORS:

Select-Coat is available in six standard colors. Dark Green, Light Green, Dark Red, Blue, Dark Brown, and Tan. Custom colors are available. Minimum quantities may apply; overages will apply.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Before any work is started, the applicator shall thoroughly examine all surfaces for any deficiencies. Should any deficiencies exist, the architect, owner or general contractor shall be notified in writing and any corrections necessary shall be made.

Cold or inclement weather will effect the cure time of Excel-Coat Products. Do not install over wet substrate, in the rain or if the threat of rain exists within 24 hours.

INSTALLATION:

Preparation:

1. Concrete shall be fully cured for 30 days.

2. Concrete should be clean and free from all dirt, dust, grease, paint or other foreign matter.

Application: Concrete Tennis court

1. Apply Excel-Coat Primer 120 or PC-155 to properly prepared substrate at a rate of 250 square feet per gallon.

   Mix 16 gallons of Select-Coat with 8 gallons of water and 100 lbs. of clean #90 mesh sand. Mix with drill motor and mixing attachment for approximately 5 minutes.

   Apply mixture using a squeegee at a rate of 100 square feet per gallon.

   Allow material to dry. Apply a second coat in the same manner applying the material in a crossed direction. Allow material to dry.

   Apply a third coat of Select-Coat (with no sand) as a seal coat at a rate of 125 square feet per gallon.

2. Allow completed system to cure 24 hours before heavy foot traffic is permitted and an additional 72 hours before heavy objects are placed on the surface.

STORAGE AND HANDLING:

Store Select-Coat in a cool, dry area and protect from freezing. Partial containers of Select-Coat can be resealed. Clean mixing and application tools with water. Dispose of empty containers properly according to current Local, State and Federal regulations.

HEALTH AND HAZARD INFORMATION:

Use product with adequate ventilation and personal protection. Users must read container label and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for specific health and safety precautions prior to use.

PRODUCT GUARANTEE/ WARRANTY:

Excellent Coatings, Inc. warrants Select-Coat to be free of defects and manufactured to meet published physical properties for a period of one year following the date of shipment, provided that the product has been applied according to the manufacturer's instructions. Under this warranty, Excellent Coatings. Inc. will provide, at no charge, product in containers to replace any product proven to be defective in applications recommended by us as suitable for this product. All claims concerning the product's defects must be made within twelve months of shipment and within thirty days of discovery. Absence of such claims in writing during this period will constitute a waiver of all claims with respect to such product. This warranty is IN LIEU OF any and all other warranties, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to any implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY of fitness for a specific purpose.

TECHNICAL SERVICE:

Authorized local representatives are available to provide design assistance and on-site instruction for our products. Excellent Coatings, Inc. provides assistance in design and development of special applications and partial inspection. Part-time and full-time inspection and instruction are available on a fee basis upon arrangement. Technical data is available upon request.
