COMPOSITION: Excel-Coat Release Agent is a single component, low viscosity, clear liquid that aids in the use of K/D II Stamp and Skin applications.  BASIC USE: Excel-Coat liquid Release Agent is used to prevent sticking of the Excel-Crete to the patterned stamps and skin pads.  Antiquing powder in different colors can also be added to the clear Release Agent to create an antiqued finish to a K/D II decorative overlay. LIMITATIONS:

·          Do not allow material to freeze. ·          Do not apply near an open flame. Turn off all pilot lights when using in enclosed areas.

GRADE: The Excel-Coat Release Agent is a combustible clear liquid material with a slight fragrance added.  Use with adequate ventilation and proper breathing masks. PACKAGING: The Excel-Coat Release Agent is available in 1 and 5 gallon containers. (US gallon measures). SHELF LIFE: Twelve months from shipping date stored below 80°.  Do not allow material to freeze. COLORS: Excel-Coat Release Agent is available in clear.  Antiquing powders may be added to the liquid Release Agent to add a colored antique finish.  The Excel-Coat Antiquing Powder is available in 10 standard colors. (Gray, Charcoal, Gray Slate, French Gray, Rustic Brown, Autumn Brown, Brick Red, Tile Red, Terra Cotta, and Walnut.) JOB CONDITIONS: Before any work is started, the applicator shall thoroughly examine all surfaces for any deficiencies. Should any deficiencies exist, the Architect, Owner or General Contractor shall be notified in writing and any corrections necessary shall be made.

Cold or inclement weather will affect the cure time of all Excel-Coat products.  Do not install Excel-Crete over wet substrate, in the rain, or if the threat of rain exists within 24 hours.  Do not apply Excel-Coat Release Agent mixed with Antiquing Powders in the rain, or if the threat of rain exist within 24 hours.

INSTALLATION: Application to skins and stamps:

1.        Once Excel-Crete has been trowelled and you are ready to place stamp or skin, spray Excel-Coat Release Agent onto the wet Excel-Crete at the rate of approximately 250-300 square feet per gallon in a thin, even coat.  Use a Hudson sprayer or spray bottle. 2.        Spray the texture side of the stamps with the Excel-Coat Release Agent before laying them onto the Excel-Crete surface.  Place stamp/skin and roll to create impression. 3.        Lift each stamp off the surface and move to the next area.  Repeat the trowel-and-spray process as stated above. Allow stamped/skinned Excel-Crete to dry. 4.        Always clean stamps and skins thoroughly when this process has been completed.

Highlight with Release Agent and Antiquing Powers:

1.        To add an antiqued look to an Excel-Coat K/D II finish, add 2 to 4 ounces of colored Antiquing Powder to one gallon of the Excel-Coat Release Agent and mix thoroughly. 2.        Excel-Crete surface shall be dry prior to application of the tinted highlighting material. 3.        Spray liquid tinted Release Agent material from a spray bottle or Hudson Sprayer.  Allow material to be absorbed flow into low spots. Excess material may be wiped off while still wet or cleaned off with soap and water prior to sealing.  4.        Allow application to dry before applying a new color or second application of the same color. 

Note:       The final sealed finish will resemble surface as seen when tinted liquid release agent is still wet.  Surface may appear to dry lighter, but colors will stand out once sealed with an Excel-Coat clear sealer. 

STORAGE AND HANDLING: Store Excel-Coat Release Agent in a cool, dry area and protect from freezing. It will be necessary to stir Excel-Coat Release Agent before using.  Partial containers can be resealed. Should a top skin develop on the remaining contents of a container, the physical properties and effectiveness of the contents will not be impaired. Clean mixing and application tools with a solvent cleaner like MEK. Dispose of empty containers properly according to current Local, State and Federal regulations. HEALTH AND HAZARD INFORMATION: Use the product with adequate ventilation and personal protection. Users must read container label and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for specific health and safety precautions prior to use. Repairs and Maintenance:If damage or excessive wear occurs, simple repairs using the same products can be accomplished. Contact Excellent Coatings, Inc. for specific information regarding long-term maintenance. Cleaning can be accomplished by scrubbing with normal detergent soap and water. Heavy stains may require a citrus cleaning solution and brushing with a stiff broom.

GUARANTEE / WARRANTY: Excellent Coatings, Inc. warrants Excel-Coat Release Agent to be free of defects and manufactured to meet published physical properties for a period of one year following the date of shipment, provided that the product has been applied according to the manufacturer's instructions. Under this warranty, Excellent Coatings, Inc. will provide, at no charge, product in containers to replace any product proved to be defective in applications recommended by us as suitable for this product. All claims concerning the products' defects must be made within twelve months of shipment and within thirty days of discovery. Absence of such claims in writing during this period will constitute a waiver of all claims with respect to such product. This warranty is IN LIEU OF any and all other warranties, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY of fitness for a specific purpose. TECHNICAL SERVICE: Authorized local representatives are available to provide design assistance and on-site instruction for our products. Excellent Coatings, Inc. provides assistance in design and development of special applications and partial inspection. Full-time inspection and instruction are available on a fee basis upon arrangement. Technical data is available upon request.
